Top 7 Christmas Toys

Top 7 Christmas Toys
By Ted Thacker

Figuring out what the top 7 Christmas toys are is very important if you want to make your child’s Christmas season super-special this year. There are thankfully some great options that you’ll definitely want to put under the tree for Christmas 2008!

Get ready, this list is the only one you’ll need this year.

Elmo Live Doll

Everyone loves Elmo! He’s the bright red guy who’s won his way into the hearts of people young and old. This time around he’s more life-like than ever before. Elmo Live tells jokes, tells stories, dances, sits down, and even crosses his legs. You’ll have a hard time telling him apart from the muppet on TV.

Fur Real Friends Biscuit

Biscuit, My Lovin’ Pup is another life-like electronic toy. This pup acts like a real dog, and will even listen to your child’s verbal commands. He can sit, lie down, stand up, sniff, bark, and tell when something is in front of him. Biscuit is a little more expensive than some of the other toys on this list, but if you’ve had a child who’s always wanted a puppy he is more than worth it.

Eyeclops Night Vision Goggles

Having real night vision is something many children dream of. Finally, it’s available in the form of a toy! It’s surprisingly high quality and really does allow your child to see in absolute darkness using the power of infrared. This toy is a must-have for the little boy or girl in your life.

Learn and Groove Musical Table

If you have a baby or toddler he’ll love the Learn and Groove Musical Table. This table is full of bright colors and grows with your child from the baby to the toddler years. He can spin the maraca, play the colored piano keys, move the slide of the trombone, slide the cello, and tap on the drum. There are an incredible 40 songs to make sure your little music lover has the time of his life.

Fisher Price Smart Cycle

Most parents realize that their child adores playing video games. You might not be thrilled about that since you’d rather they be learning instead of wasting time playing games. That’s the great thing about the Smart Cycle! It plugs right into your TV and your child can instantly go on a learning adventure. This toy also keeps your child active as she will have to pedal and steer to keep the bike on the screen (and the one she is on) going. This makes learning the alphabet easy and fun.

Tag Reading System

Learning how to read is a very important time in a child’s life. It can also be one of the most difficult and frustrating! The Tag Reading System makes learning how to read fun because they can touch the special ‘pen’ to the page and it will help them read the words. This is a great learning toy that’s perfect for Christmas.

Star Wars Clone Trooper Voice Changer Helmet

People have loved Star Wars for decades now! The franchise becomes even more fun with this voice changer helmet. It has real sayings from the popular movies and even amplifies your child’s voice so he feels like a real Clone Trooper.

There you have it! These top 7 Christmas toys are sure to get you prepared for the holidays. You’ll have happy, smiling kids and some great toys that are fun, educational, and imaginative too.

Home Insurance Cover Over Christmas

Home Insurance Cover Over Christmas
By Seamus S

As Christmas fast approaches, more and more of us are out shopping buying expensive gifts for loved ones, but unfortunately for some people it’s not just Santa that might be paying an unexpected visit. It is sad to say but thieves are hard at work at Christmas time, full in the knowledge that many homes will be full of expensive presents which are easy to steal. Many insurers are now warning that homeowners need to check the fine print of their home insurance policy to make sure that if thieves where to strike the people who matter most don’t lose out in the long run.

Norwich and Peterborough spokesman Steve Kendall said: “It’s an important time of year to check the small print of your insurance policy. The key to a successful Christmas is preparation. Accidents happen, but it’s having the right measures in place to deal with them that counts.”

In addition to the added threat of thieves some insurers are also pointing out that your fridge and freezer will be full of expensive food brought for the holiday season and if that was to break down hundreds of pounds worth of food could be ruined. So what do homeowners have to look out for, so you can have a Christmas where all you have to worry about id the turkey in the oven?

To avoid losing out on all your present’s it is important to check that your home has contents cover against theft. This is a standard cover for most home insurance policies but it is doubly important to check this over the Christmas period. If you do discover that you don’t have theft contents cover it is worth getting it not just for the holiday season, as your home can be burgled any time of the year not just at Christmas. Many reports have been suggesting of late that people are forgoing home insurance to save money (possibly for Christmas), yet the simple fact is if your home is broken into the cost to replace the items will far outweigh any insurance premiums.

Now you are safe in the knowledge that your contents are covered in your home insurance policy, it is also important to make sure you have any breakdown cover for any appliances which are essential for the Christmas period. Some home insurance policies will include break down cover for certain appliances which is brilliant if the oven was to stop working a week before Christmas. Admittedly this kind of cover is not deemed ‘essential’ but it can be extremely valuable to have. If your Christmas hinges on how well the turkey is cooked, then just for peace of mind it might be well worth it to looking into getting some form of breakdown cover.

So with Christmas fast approaching and a million and one things to do before the big day arrives, certain types of home insurance cover can often be forgotten. A simple check can help insure that if the worst was to happen you can still have a merry Christmas with the ones you love.

Christmas Shopping in Newry

Christmas Shopping in Newry
By Mairead Foley

If you’re familiar with UK high street shops, but don’t want the hassle of flying across the pond at this time of the year, here’s a stress free travel option for you! Ever thought of heading up North to do your Christmas shopping?

This year why not consider Newry? The exchange rate has never been so good and with many shops accepting Euros as well, what are you waiting for? Fill that tank and off you go!

Newry is fairly close to the border between the Republic and Northern Ireland and is only 102km from Dublin. Because of its closeness to the border it’s fast becoming a shopping haven, especially for people from Dublin.

Newry is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest towns and was founded in 1144. Originally a market town, it wasn’t granted city status until March 2002.

Newry is situated in the south east of Ulster, with half of the city in County Armagh and the other half in County Down. It’s surrounded by the famous Mourne Mountains and the Ring of Gullion - both are areas of outstanding beauty. It’s a case of “water, water everywhere” with Newry, the river Clanrye and the Newry Canal flow through the city, and also Carlingford Lough is not too far away.

Shopping in Newry is dominated by two massive shopping centres, which between them probably stock everything including the kitchen sink! Add the glitter and magic of Christmas decorations and Christmas lights and surely, and not forgetting the glitz and glamour of the party season, you’ll be in Christmas shopping mode to tackle that never ending list of Christmas pressies!

Buttercrane Shopping Centre…

Buttercrane Shopping Centre is located in the city centre right next to Newry Canal. It houses most of your high street favourites. Shoppers will definitely have died and gone to heaven with 60 shops to go through. Choose from Marks and Spencer, Virgin, Birthdays, Bay Trading and Mothercare. Other popular retail units include Dunnes Stores, Easons, Primark (Penny’s) and O’Briens sandwich bar.

Opening hours:

Monday and Tuesday - 9am to 5.30pm

Wednesday to Friday - 9am to 9pm

Saturday - 9am to 6pm

Sunday - 1pm to 6pm

And no need to worry about parking either as there are 1000 parking spaces on site.

People with disabilities can also shop with ease. The 1st hurdle of parking is taken care of with 40 spaces allocated to disabled parking. The centre features 3 lifts, disabled toilets with disabled access and a shopmobility facility.

The Quays…

The Quays is another shopping centre and leisure development, smack bang in the middle of Newry. And just like Buttercrane it’s on the canal. Again this has many high street favourites including Ernest Jones, Early Learning Centre, HMV, River Island, Sainsburys and Waterstones, to name but a few.

Got time for a “hair-do” between all that hectic shopping, then a trip to Peter Marks may be just what you need! Staying on the same floor, Deli-Lites restaurant or sandwich bar will do a good job in filling that gap.

Now if you haven’t come just for the shopping the centre also houses a 9-screen cinema. Stock up beforehand on the all-important film food at Haagen Dazs and Ye Olde Sweet Shop.

There really is something for everyone at the Quays. For all art lovers now - come along to the Thomas Kinkade Art Gallery for your solution to the ideal Christmas present.

Facilities at the centre include 1,300 car parking spaces, with spacing being allocated to disabled customers. Also on-site is a customer service desk, toilets including special needs toilets, baby changing facilities, a lift, shopmobility and a very important feature for all parents, child safe zones.

Where else can you splash your cash?

Shopping in Newry is not just all about these two main shopping centres. Other retail hot spots include Hill Street and Monaghan Street.

On Hill Street you will find men’s designer shops, ladies fashion boutiques, and Independent retailers, for example, Cahill Brothers Shoe Shop (100 years old), Jack Murphy Jewellers (50 years old), Tavey Brothers and Louis Boyd (men’s shops). Hill Street is also home to the Thursday and Saturday variety markets.

On Monaghan Street you will find Dunnes Stores, T.K. Maxx, Argos, Mc Parland’s and Newry Computer Centre.

Newry City Centre has a variety of cafés, eateries and restaurants. These include Bellini’s Bar and Restaurant, The Bank Bar and Restaurant, Cobbles Bar and Restaurant, Seporia Italia and Bandu Restaurant.

Affiliate Marketing Christmas Cash - Sell Profitable Products

Affiliate Marketing Christmas Cash - Sell Profitable Products
By Angela Booth

Will you have a great affiliate marketing Christmas? You can. Get set up right now by creating a Web site and selling profitable products from the site.

The site will keep earning money for you right up to Christmas and beyond - indeed, for many Christmases to come.

But how do you choose affiliate products which will sell well?

I’ve just been looking through the Sunday newspapers and have found three great products which I predict will sell in massive numbers this season. Now it’s just a matter of finding vendors who have affiliate programs for these products.

I commend this process to you too. Search through newspapers and magazines to find products which are not only popular but which you enjoy. If you’re going to sell something it should be interesting for you.

Stay away from products which are highly popular but in which you lack interest. You will be selling these products, so the more enthusiastic you are about them the more you will sell.

Should You Have One Affiliate Marketing Website or Many?

This is a personal choice. If you’ve tested a product and find that it sells very well it’s worthwhile to buy a domain name and set up a website just for that product. The site doesn’t have to be large; it can be a small site of only four or five pages. Over time you’ll add more pages to the site — remember that a site which is selling for you will keep on selling for you for years.

On the other hand you can also set up a site to sell several affiliate products. Usually you’ll stick to similar products on one site. For example if you are selling technology items, you can group several items together and sell them all from the same site. If you have health-related items you could sell them are from one site too.

However, don’t try to sell too many products from the one site: you run the risk of confusing your customers, and they won’t buy.

Choose your affiliate products today. Start promoting them, and you’re sure to have a wonderful Christmas.
